Economic Impact Series

A Woman at the Table: A Better Feast for All

Presented by the Political Action Team

What happens when women are at the decision and policy making table? During this exciting forum you'll hear from thought leaders and community activists about the difference YOUR involvement can make in our community and beyond.

Victoria Budson, Executive Director of the Women and Public Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School will give the key note presentation.

Panel members Jennifer Troyer, PhD., Assoc. Professor, Belk College of Business, Dept. of Economics, UNC-Charlotte, Jenn Frye, Associate Director, Democracy North Carolina and Maxine Eaves, advocate for women's empowerment and community leader will explore the impact of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act and the many other ways one woman can improve the lives of many.

When: April 28, 2009 at 9:30 am to 2:00 pm

Where: UNC-Charlotte

Registration fee: $20.00 to help defray the costof the forum.

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Women's Summit is a data driven, community based volunteer organization that serves as a catalyst to improve the lives of women and girls, and thereby the whole community, in Charlotte Mecklenburg through the following actions:

  • Raise awareness and educate

  • Engage the community

  • Serve as a key resource for information on issue
